As it is the 500th anniversary of the birth of Mary of Guise, mother of Mary, Queen of Scots Historic Scotland has organised a “royal” progress around sites associated with the queen – and this month it is Linlithgow’s turn.
Mary of Guise was enchanted by the Palace which reminded her of chateaux in France and it was a favourite place for her and James V. Most importantly it was the birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots.
Come and meet the Queen and hear how she safeguarded the throne for her young daughter.
